Emma Nott, defending, said; 'This is the first realistic opportunity that the defendant has had to enter guilty pleas.'
She said was of previous good character, had been in a distressed state and suffered from mental health difficulties.
'She said his best mitigation was 'recognising what he had done by his pleas.'
Judge Melbourne Inman QC adjourned sentence until May 22 and Chapman was remanded in custody.
He said: 'I will adjourn sentience for a report to address the issue of dangerousness. That is not an indication of the sentence.
'Obviously a custodial sentence in inevitable for this type of offending.'
A number of items of computer equipment were seized following search of Chapman's home when he was arrested on November 9 last year.
At the time police said there was no evidence to suggest any inappropriate contact between him and children at the nursery.
